Octavia dab retro fitting

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 elegance with a standard Stream head unit.looking to get a dab head unit.the Skoda Amundsen+ seems to fit the bill, will it fit my car & will the rear parking sensors & climate control still work through it,i already have a dab aerial fitted.

Apart from £100 on ebay, what's the difference between the RNS310 and RNS315 (amundsen & amundsen+)?

Oh, and are there any rules with fitting one to a pre-fl like you do with the Boleros which have to be a certain type to avoid battery drain, dull screens and other fun stuff?

They're completely different, despite looking the same. DAB is an option on the Plus unit but not all have it. Bluetooth is an option on the Plus unit but not all have it. Reverse camera plug port is an option on the Plus unit but not all have it. Maps are expensive single use sd card update on the Plus unit and the standard Amundsen used to use a cd but now uses an SD card also. Different maps on the cards though.

The Amundsen uses DDP communication protocol while the Plus unit uses BAP protocol. Pre facelift cars use DDP while facelift cars use BAP. Wrong unit in your car will not work to its full potential if the car and the unit don't speak the same language.

Battery drain is due to the car, not the unit. Your car needs a compatible Canbus gateway to avoid battery drain.
