cd changer has "mechanic" in display

hi 

just signed up to get help with my cd changer. it has the word MECHANIC in the display. ive looked through the manuals and it doesnt mention the anywhere. anyone know what it means please. up til this week it was playing all 6 discs fine. and i havnt changed the discs or opened it up so cant understand why this message has just come up.

thanks all il try that tomorrow as its dark outside now. if it doesnt work il be back lol.

I've always just taken the cartridge out of the stacker, moved one of the discs out and in its slot, put it back and it's worked until the next time there's a vibration at exactly the wrong time during a swap.

I had the same problem, turned out the internal mechanics on the disc changer had corroded slightly and was sticking. Took it apart, cleaned it up, and applied a light coating of wd40 to the moving parts with a cotton bud.

All is well so far (done some years ago now), also check for leaks in the rubber boot seal above the changer which turned out to be the source of the moisture which caused the corrosion in the first place.
