INdicator relay fried.. Indicator issues

Featured Replies

SO I've a 2003 skoda octavia RS; and since yesterday the relay's just gone, the indicators will blink once or twice in each direction but that's all .. Meanwhile the hazards work fine, if possibly a slight bit off-beat.

SO i ordered a new relay from a Skoda dealership (£45 btw .. robbery) and the way i understand it i need to remove the plastic hatch around the hazard triangle button in the car, and then pulled out the button and it's attached little box, this should present me with a cableharness, wherefrom i disconnect the box and reconnect the new one, and then slide the box back in along with the plastic cover after that.. is that all?

Pretty much. Use a wide bladed, fairly blunt object to lever the switch at the top and bottom carefully other wise you can mark the dash. Unplug the old, then connect the new one and slide back in to place.

Aye .. I'll do that.. On another note, you wouldn't happen to know if a new relay from Skoda will come with the triangle pre-attached? I saw some vide on another skoda where they removed the plastic shroud (including the triangle) from the actual box of electronics, and it looked like a right pain to deal with..
