Mk3 Octavia Bluetooth help

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new to my Skoda Octavia.

I have the 1.2TSi SE model. I have managed to get my Android Sony Z5 to connect to the stereo unit and play music. But what I would like (hope is possible) to do is to be able to view and choose the paylists I have made up on my phone on the stereo. Is this possible? Is the a best Android app for this?

Cheers

George

Which device you have? Bolero, amundsen or columbus?

I have the Bolero I think. that's going by the back of the ICE manual.

You won't be able to browse the phone, either it's connected via Bluetooth or USB, on Android.

A USB stick with your songs in folders for playlists would be your best bet.

Or if connected by bluetooth, start your playlist on the mobile and it will just play through the car.

Or, if you want something more discreet, an SDXC card in the SD1 slot in the glovebox.

Thanks for the replies. Problem is I use Amazon Prime music so it's all tied to my Amazon account. Don't think I can put that on an SD card or a USB. Will look into it. Is there any mp3 players which you can browse the paylists? Also do you just create paylists in Windows Media Player and then send you Card for in car or does it need stored in specific ways.

Sorry I am new to whole bluetooth in a car. Old car was very basic and had nothing until I added an Aux in.

Explains the folder structure in the handbook.

No, you can't in any way "look" into your phone's files (whatever they are : Playlists, mp3, pics). The phone has to "actively" send whichever data it wants to display on the head unit. This is how Bluetooth works on android. All you Can do is next track, previous track, fast forward/reverse

Thanks. I'm going to get a Cruzer USB stick and load up with my music. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the size of a USB Device? Can't find that in the manual

I've been using a 256GB micro SDXC card in a SD card to USB adapter and that works fine.

Thanks for that. I have ordered up a 16gb mini USB device. It's for the kids music more so. Will see how I get on with that and maybe get a larger one for my music.
