Recycling a un-fitted towbar

I bought a towbar for my mk2, but never got around to fitting it.  I now have a mk3.  I am all but certain that the towbar won't fit, but I thought I should check.

Guess I should be able to keep the electric bypass box, as the mk2 had bulb failure, or will that be different as the mk3 I think has some LED bulbs (for the tail lights?) in the cluster.
