Vibration after finding tyres were down.

Featured Replies

Hi

We had a 20 mile round trip yesterday. On the return legs the front passenger side tyre felt down. I left till this morning and it had got worse so I pumped the tyres up at the garage. Front left was 7psi and rear left was 16psi. After they were both pumped up the vibration is still there after 40 mph.. Any advice? Is it a visit to the local ats or the dealers?

Many thanks

Have you checked the tyre walls to see if the tyre is wrecked from running under inflated.

Take it off the car to see, or have a Tyre Centre do it then see after that if you still have issues.

Excuse the ignorance but what am I looking for with a damaged tyre wall?

You would be looking for damage like a bulge.

The reason the tyres pressures were down, like something in the tyre, or cracks / damage.

Best go have a Tyre Fitter check.

?

When did you last check and set the tyre pressures?

I've just found a nail in the front tyre. They are due to be changed so I guess it's a trip to ats and see how it is after the new tyres are fitted.
