Rapid SpaceBack 1.4 TDI SE Sport MY16/17 Video Review

Recommended Posts

Considered one of these to replace our TSI Spaceback but while the dealers were offering pretty good discounts on the new car, the P/X valuation offered was quite shocking; if my rough maths was right they were suggesting after two years the Spaceback TSI had retained at best only 35% of the original RRP.

Just thought i would check on we buy any car for the price on ours.

As we all know WBAC offer the base value... but for ours with less than 5k miles, as new with a RRP of around £18k 10 months ago

Your Valuation
£9,345

Residuals are not strong.

We bought our nearly-new 1.2 tsi 105 Spaceback SE with 3000 miles on the clock for £8700 so the weak residuals worked in our favour!  That was 18 months ago though so I don't know if they've changed since.

Seems a very good price for a nearly new Spaceback; our two year old TSI went for that of a non Skoda forecourt.

Dealers seem to be having their cake and eating it when it comes to Rapid pricing, with low P/X values against a healthy mark up once on the forecourt.
