Economy of vrs

Featured Replies

It says the new vrs can get

Urban 25.9

Extra Urban 45.6

Combined 35.8

has anyone got in the 40-45 mpg?

haveing a blast in a demo today, mix of town and motorway, see what i get.

Assuming the standard VRS buyer wants to have the occasional "spirited" drive I suggest - based on my MKV GTI - that a real world figure of 27 - 28mpg is most likely (using the brim and calulator method rather than the slightly optimistic trip computer).

Didn't see above 26 mpg on test drive, and that include a steady 40 on a slight uphill gradient for several miles in 5th.

I always find these kind of questions quite assuming when asked about a Performance vehicle!!

If economy and 40+ mpgs are something of an interest or requirement why not diesel, a vRS is about performance, power, high revs, etc (I know its very good at doing the wafting thing), so I should think worrying about petrol consumption should be the last thing on someones mind !

good point m8 just that I have a diesel just now and just working out extra costs etc before I order the vrs.

Dave B you have a pm,

Had a go this morning Demo went very well As for mpg over 35 miles, pushed very hard 22mpg average :thumbup:

The car is fantastic, sitting at 80 on a private road drop it into 4th straight to 120 in no time at all.:eek: Also goes round bends like it is on rails, eg my Oct'y with sport suspension out of a 1/2 mile long tight left hander will do about 65 mph, Vrs 105mph felt pefectly stable. A very nice car :thumbup:

[ all performance done on a private road :eek: }

It would be possible to see 35mpg on a long steady run, be a bit boreing though :D

In the same possition, want a vrs proberbly will keep the diesel for a bit longer, other wise it will be my 3rd new Skoda in less than 2 years:eek:

SWIMBO says NO :rofl:
