I picked up my Octavia VRS 2L DSG last week and can honestly say im really enjoying being a skoda owner at the moment, what a great car.

 

I do however have a few questions if anyone could help.

 

The car has the Bolero radio and an aux port in the centre armrest but when I connect my iphone to the aux port the radio doesnt seem to recognise its connected? When I select media it just comes up with 'medium not available' Am i doing something wrong or does the Bolero unit just not support use with an iphone?

 

My second question is, im looking to purchase some winter tyres now the temperature has dropped. Can anyone recommend any reasonably priced middle of the range brands that they have found to be good in the past?

The aux has to be enabled in the settings but it is just a dumb connection.

We have used Continental TS830 winters in the past and now using TS850. I got a set of Transporter T4 steel 16" wheels. Just swap them over when the temp is consistently below 7 deg C and back over in the spring.

They have been very good. The 850's don't get as high a rating as the 830's but still very good.
