Is it possible to retro fit ESP in an octavia vRS which does not have ESP as standard? Is it just a programme which works in conjunction with ABS or does it also require some mechanical changes?

Fairly difficult (difficult enough that when the early Audi TT's were recalled for retro fit ESP they were all shipped to Germany for it).

But considering the pump and ECU is around £1000 and the sensors are around £100 each pretty expensive.

Well that put a stop to that line of thinking.
