Hi All,

My 02 1.6 Ambiente has been suffering from squeaky brakes for a while now, but no drop off in performance. But today I noticed that the squeaking was there when starting off from a stand again, continuing after I took the handbrake off, then stopping after I got up some revs. Sounds like the rear pads are not coming off the drums fully. Any ideas?

Does sound like your breaks are binding or the handbreak is sticking.

I didn't think octavia had drums, as mine certainly has disks all around.

If you do have drums try getting the things serviced as sometimes the springs in a drum can go limp causing that sort of effect.
