Heater unit

Featured Replies

I had to fit a 1.9 diesel heater unit in my 1.8t build for clearance, however driving yesterday the screen was misting up so i put the heater on but only to realise it didn't blow out of any vents, though the 3 speeds work!

So i removed it to see what was going on and it looks like it was sold to me with missing clip and a broken pivot. As i've never seen another diesel unit i'm unsure what it's meant to look like.

I have circled where i think the clip and pivot should be. Any idea if i can get new ones or am i going to have to find another unit?

Cheers

Or can anyone with a 1.9 diesel felly get a photo of this area on their heater unit so i can see what's missing...

Until somebody will take that photo, I've thought to post this for you.

Looking at that i'd guess i'm missing 5,6 and 7 but can't be sure.

I don't know what it does, but 5..7 is definitely a bellcrank linkage so I'd expect it to be opening and closing a flap.

Ricardo, the reason I don't know what it does is that the exploded view shows the parts, but not how the links and flaps interconnect. I can see that 7 connects to 9, but not what 9 connects to, or what the end of 5 that doesn't connect to 6 connects to.

The illustration and parts list are from ETKA for Skoda which is a parts catalog.

I'm missing the spring clip number 3 from the top picture and then the pivot at the top and the rod attached to it are also missing.

Could possibly make something if i can't buy them.
