Yet another Adblue question

Featured Replies

Picked up my Yeti Tdi SCR yesterday.

Maxidot reports Adblue range 3000 mi - well thats straighforward but then reports

Min 0.75 gal - max 0.75 gal

Now I may be showing my stupidity here but I would expect to see a difference between min fill and max fill ?

Mine is showing the same display.  I assume that the min and max being the same as meaning the minimum to get the system to report a change and the maximum being the limit on what the tank can hold??  I'm aware that if it does go so low as to trigger a none engine start until it's topped up that you can not just put in a small amount but have to more or less fill the tank, unless someone knows differently?

Thanks ernie for your thoughts.

Hmm ? Nothing in the book to explain the thinking behind the min/max display so we are left guessing.

I refilled mine for the first time at 1900miles remaining

it took 4-litres + I will be refilling at this sort of milage

to err on the safe side. I don't like the possibility of a

dead engine on trying to restart one day.

Mine also at 1900 miles warning, also showing same volumes as min and max, 0.75 gal. As far as I can remember it has always shown these values ( when any at all are visible), I wonder if it is a not very elegant way of saying " don't just put half a pint in - fill it" ?

Otherwise it does seem pointless as information and superfluous as a warning.

What a difference when they fit a proper sized Adblue Tank.

This is where a 71 litre diesel tank is fitted.

'Coasting function makes that diesel go a long way.'

Ok Guys, thanks for your responses, seems none of us are any wiser :notme:

Perhaps it need to build up a memory of rate of consumption of the DEF before it makes sense.
