2003 Renault Clio Sport 172, black - £1000

2003 Clio 172 - Pearl Black

I've owned this car since May 2013. Selling due to lack of use and to free up space on the driveway. I've done about 15k miles in it including a few trips up north and 1200 miles through France, Belgium and Germany. Previous owner bought it from a friend and only had it for a few months as she needed something more practical. Two previous owners before that.

Key points:

122000 miles
First registered 6th August 2003
Lots of service history (12 entries in service book & lots of receipts)
MOT to 29/06/2017
Owners manual and service book
V5 document present and in my name - showing 3 previous owners
2 working remote keys
Standard 16" wheels with good tyres on - Hankook Ventus S1 Evo on the front (lots of tread) and BF Goodrich on the back. All tyres 195/45/16.
Full size spare wheel & tool kit
Powerflex dogbone mount
Cup shocks all round
Eibach pro-kit springs
Eibach camber bolts on the front, setup by Mark Fish to 2 and a bit degrees.
Mist washer jets
Sony mechless head unit with USB/Aux (have standard head unit as well)
Uprated speakers fitted by a previous owner (Infinity I think)
No warning lights on the dash

Service record:
12 entries in the service book. Most recent service at 120345 on 18/7/16 which also included a new air filter. Spark plugs replaced at approx 110k with correct NGK platinums. During my ownership I have done four oil/filter changes myself and filled in the service book. I've used either Elf 5W-40 or Shell Helix Ultra 5W-40 oil. The cambelt, aux belt kit and water pump were replaced at 78k miles by a garage in Cambridge (with receipt).

Work done in my ownership:
Powerflex purple dogbone mount fitted by Dan @ 519
Replaced all shocks & springs with brand new genuine Renault cup shocks, Eibach pro-kit springs and Eibach front camber bolts. The bump stops and dust covers were also replaced at the same time (new genuine Renault).
Front camber and toe set up by Mark Fish (camber is approx 2-2.5 degrees)
Replaced rear brake discs, wheel bearings and spacers (with genuine Renault parts)
Replaced rear pads (Pagid)
Replaced both rear calipers (one BiggRed refurb, the other Pagid refurb from ECP)
Front discs (Brembo HC)
Front pads (Pagid)
Bonnet seal
OSF driveshaft (Renault refurb)
Injectors replaced with working used ones
Mid & rear exhaust sections & mounts
Replaced gearbox oil (with correct Elf transmission fluid)
Replaced brake fluid a few times (ATE super blue and TYP 200)
Replace coolant with Renault Type D

I have lots of receipts for parts and work carried out. I have done oil/filter changes and other small jobs myself. Bigger jobs or when I haven't had time it's been into a garage.

Exterior:
Skoda Fabia front splitter
Good condition with no major dents or scratches and no areas of rust

Interior:
Good condition. Not been smoked in. No rips, holes or tears in the seats.
One thumb grip on the steering wheel has a small split (very common)
Alloy foot rest
Carbon effect wrap on dash strips (could be removed easily)

Mechanical:
Goes, steers and stops as it should
No knocks or clunks from the suspension
Clutch bites well
All gears engage easily with no crunches

Advisories on the last MOT:
Chip on windscreen
Oil leak - seems to be from gearbox selector which is very common on 172/182 Clios
Tyres - wheels/tyres have been changed from the ones fitted at the time of the MOT so no longer an issue

Bad points:
Sometimes get a clicking noise at full lock to the right. Was present before OSF driveshaft was replaced but now sounds a bit different. Suspect it's due to the increased camber. I have avoided using full lock to the right.
No rear seats fitted at the moment. If the car doesn't go as-is then I'll re fit them.
I think the exhaust/clamp sometimes knocks on the rear beam - I will try to re-adjust it before the sale
Air con not working

Extras that can be negotiated into the sale:
Windscreen seal kit
NSF driveshaft (refurb Renault, still sealed in box)
Whiteline rear anti-roll bar

Price:
£1000 ovno
I am not in a rush to sell so I will not accept silly offers.

The car is currently taxed and insured so can be test driven. Proof of ID, funds and insurance are required for a test drive.

Car is located in Haverhill, Suffolk (CB9) - 12 miles from the A11 or 17 miles from the M11.

Please contact me with any questions or to arrange a viewing and I'll get back to you ASAP.
