Steep

Featured Replies

Over the weekend I took part in the closed Beta test of a new game called Steep on the Xbox One, I'd registered interest in the game earlier this year and was offered the opportunity to test it.

It's absolutely bloody brilliant! It's an open world extreme sports simulator, the game world is a recreation of the Alps and it is stunning. You can chose between Skiing, Snowboarding, Wingsuit flying and Parascending, you can also hike to reach specific spots if you feel like it. Each activity has its own challenges where you either race or try to score points to win. Point scoring is by either performing tricks or taking risks or a combination of both. If you don't fancy that you can just explore the world.

The controls feel great too, snowboarding in powder actually resembles doing it for real and the proximity wingsuit flying is challenging but rewarding

Its a definite buy from me, there is a further public open beta test for it this weekend if anyone wants to give it a go

Lee01 sent my missus a link to this game on face ache, sorry, Facebook, and it looks awesome. Reminds me of the open world format games like Need for Speed Most wanted etc, which makes for hours and hours of gameplay.

As the missus also loves the look of this game (wahoo!!) it gives me licence to get a PS4. So I've now got to get rid of one of the PS3's in the house to make room and told the old dear to buy us a PS4 for Crimbo :D
