Gear linkage bushings

Featured Replies

My gear linkage has a problem somewhere as i cannot select 1st 2nd and reverse smoothly

I have tried adjusting the cables but no difference

The cable ends have some play in them which I have bought some new ones however i cannot seem to find the part which the cable end attaches to. Its got a part number written on it of 1J0 711 203 N

you can only seem to buy the whole piece when i only really need the white plastic bit which moves the selector up and down (if that makes sense)

will try to upload a pic later of the bit i mean

Is the bit you need on this page?

Not seeing the part number you quote, myself.

Both those numbers are on the page I linked.  Look around the item numbers 47/48 area.  Call your local dealership/TPS for prices, or email the helpful Mike Hindle via [email protected] for a quote. Don't forget to include your registration number or VIN.

Sorry i did not see that orignially, the diagram looks completely different so I thought they wouldn't be on there

I am going to call dealer today and see how much they are, failing that I will email Mike

I couldn't find much information on whether it was a common problem with the fabia, but i suppose the car is 10 years old and 100000 miles so its done pretty well

Cheers for your help

Yeah, to be fair, it was only once I knew the numbers I was looking for that I could see them in the list!
