Can you use the steering wheel of the Skoda Octavia RS 2017 for the Fabia RS 5j?

Not sure, but ive got a 2014 Yeti MFSW in my 2013 Fab.

I have heard the later octy stuff doesnt work though. Cant remember why.

The paddles only plug in though. Dont think it makes much difference. If some of it works id think the dsg buttons would.

Yea I've been thinking this too. Would love a flat bottom one with red stitch... I think you can remove the stereo and phone controls from each side and imagine put the Fabia vrs ones back in

The right hand ones will work when a steering wheel with them is fitted though.

yeah, works loads better. The phone button if pressed brings up voice activation on my Zenec headunit, so i can just say who i want to call or whatever. Works well as its worked out. 

 

Just dont touch the buttons on the end of the right stalk, because it gets confused temporarily. Resets on next start up, but just confuzzles it abit.

I dont know what you mean by fabia Rs mk1. This is the mk2 section so im assuming you arent on about the mk1 6Y, and there wasnt a vrs on prefacelift models of the 5j

5J  2007-2014 Fabia that is pre face lift then Face Lift.

I like my steering wheel as fitted to my Dirty Diesel as much as any i have used, a nice small size,

and the paddles are fine on it just as they are.

My Fabia is CAVE , 2010-2012

The latest Octavia uses a different protocol for the buttons. They won't work with the 5J. You'll need the buttons from a facelift (2014-) Superb which I think were also on the Yeti of a similar age.

so the Octy wheel will work as long as the buttons are replaced with Superb/yeti buttons with all the MFD working aswel as the paddles?
