Cancelled insurance

Featured Replies

I have had my policy cancelled on my fabia, having read up on cancelled insurance etc, I'm now seriously stuck!

Has this ever happened to someone else and can advise me on a course of action?

Without it, I'm Fluffed!

I got a quote coming in from a specialist and the're saying 4 grand!

Briskoda Ins. and Chris Knott Wont insure me either, even before the cancellation.

I have a works van to get about in but there's only so much you can take the piddle with in terms of using works vehicles

Maybe an idea to say 'Why you had your insurance cancelled'.   Even if just because i am nosey.

Were you naughty?

May we ask why your Insurance was cancelled ?    :notme:    Looks like I'm nosey too George

Good point from you both..

the credit company that pay the insurer refuse to give me the credit for it..

even though i got accepted for £20000 car finance recently, I didn't take it

so whats a measley £1000 in comparison for insurance..

Good,

So not a serious infringement, non declared mods etc.  Just a payment issue.

Best see what the specialists here say.

You'll probably get knocked back if you do anything online "Computer says no".

Think you'll have to pick up the phone or go in and see a broker so you can explain circumstances.

Ok, so managed to get insurance, cheaper than what I was paying, and got a sizeable discount due to being insured at work on 3 'high performance' cars even though I said my work won't disclose this information..

Although I spoke to the guy he said it was a fully comp policy.. Got my cover note.. Saying TPFT, so haven't used car due to this discrepancy until it's sorted!

Seriously hating on the rigmarole of getting insurance!

Me too with that last sentence, guessing you are a young person.

I'm having trouble getting a decent company to quote me sub £200, it can be done but I do have to resign myself to going with Saga. :notme:

It seems the older I get the price goes up, I thought it worked the other way, or is it another excuse.

On one quotation they even asked what I used to do as a job, been retired 3 years, why??

Hope you get sorted, a few more quotes for me tomorrow.

See, while I was on the phone, they asked me what my previous car was, I was then thinking, what has that got to do with anything, I have no claims bonus.. Doesn't matter if it was less powerful or more..

I don't even want the car for the power.

I want good range, looks the dogs b*****s and is reliable!

Admittedly, power is good! But I'm just sick of being penalised for all these other factors!

Here's another rant..

Black box insurance..

Scrap it and start a video box instead which saves video data along with telematics to determine who was at fault after the accident, Not having someone in an office being able to tell where you are 24/7!

Might just chop in the fabs and get a push bike.. Less hassle!

I was asked today, why have you only got 11 years NCB yet you have been driving and had insurance since 1976?

I replied because a company I was with before 5-6 years ago only gave me and acknowledged I had 5 years NCB when I decided I was leaving them. Apparently they did it to all there customers who left them, they have since changed their policy on this and give the earned NCB as proof when leaving. What a bunch of mardy B........s.

Anyways I said, beat a quote I've already got or don't waste anymore of my time, you rang me afterall for my business,  and I did an online quote and  ticked no return calls, emails or texts. He couldn't get anywhere near it.

Oh gosh, what moron's!

I hate it when you get suckered in and boom! get messed about!

And that's a good point about the not phoning etc etc

I forever get calls I don't recognise,

Surely there is a much simpler way of doing things!

Insurance system needs to change.. For the better

Just remember to answer truthfully when asked "have you ever had insurance cancelled or refused" and explain why.

It's easy enough for any insurer to see anyway if you're hiding anything as it'll be on the insurance database
