Apart from Halfords - where could I look for car body colour matched paints - without costing an arm and a leg. Preferably in spray cans because I don't have a compresser / sprayer, but if I could hire one cheap it might be an option.

local car body shop is the only thing I can think of......but it will be in large-ish cans and I'm not sure about the cheap as they will have to order it to get the right colour for your car (you will need the colour code off of the dealer plate on the car

Don't know where to buy cheap paint but Paint Wizard in Stirling are good for minor repair jobs, only cost me
