Text messages on Columbus

Featured Replies

My Motorola pairs with my l&k fine but I cannot see any text messages. How do you do it? Any help much appreciated.

Usually Phone > Inbox allows you to see a list.

Does your phone popup with a security authorisation prompt when it pairs?

Keep your phone screen on when you next get in the car and see if anything pops up that you need to allow.

AppleCarplay reads out your messages and allows you to dictate replies.

Make sure on the phone that you have allowed for "message access".

Go to Settings, Bluetooth, "Skoda BT 5778" (or whatever it's called), and click on the Settings symbol, you must allow (tick the box) next to Message Access.

Otherwise it can also be a compatibility issue, I think. Maybe your phone just doesn't have SMS via Bluetooth compatibility...

I think it needs to have Message Access Profile (MAP) support, but I'm not sure.

Works for me (LG G4) but I need to RTFM on replying to SMS-es, as I always end up sending two similar texts... :-)

Pretty irrelevant... ;-)

All settings were ok no security alerts etc and the damn thing worked for the first time. The only thing I did different this time was make sure the phone was unlocked before I got in the car. Just need a text message to come in now to test. A real mystery but thank you all for the suggestions once again. This is a great site.
