Changing an order

Featured Replies

Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this.

I placed an order for a race blue VRS estate in late October and I have been given a build date of wk 51. The cold weather we have had recently has made me realise that I should have specced the winter pack.

Until what point can you amend an order?

Thanks.

If the car is at Status 10 it only has a provisional build week so I believe the Spec can be altered, once the order goes to status 20 the build is committed to that week so I don't think the Spec can be altered. Your dealer, by looking on there Computor can tell you where abouts your car is in terms of a build week

If the dealer says they can't tell you dont believe them, they can

Hope that helps

Thanks for this advice. I'll give them a call and see what they say. I'm guessing it may put back the build week a little, but that's OK if I get the better spec.

Will report back on success (or failure).

Well, had an interesting couple of chats with the dealer.

My initial call was fielded by a salesman who I hadn't dealt with before. He said categorically that I couldn't change my order as it was 'locked in the system'. I expressed my disappointment as the build date is still 6 weeks away but that, seemingly, was that. I thanked him for his time and asked him to let 'my' salesman know I had called.

Half an hour later, the salesman who I had bought the car from called me. He said that the winter pack had been added to my order but it meant the build date being put back 2 weeks.

Overall, I am pleased that I've been able to amend the order but am frustrated that two salesmen who cannot sit ,ore than a few feet apart cannot give the same info. How many others have been refused changes when they could have been made?

Excellent news, Looks like your car could have been at Status 10, provincial Build week but as it's been put back 2 weeks it now could be at Status 20, a committed build week.

Looks like the first saleman didn't look on his computer..................
