aerial amp

Featured Replies

Hi guys , I'm fitting a aerial amp to my vrs tomorrow . But where can i pick up the 12v feed from ? most after market head units , have a 12v feed out to the aerial ! but is there one on the symphony unit ?  thanks in advance !

Just splice into the switched live although there should be a spare connection for the aerial amp, all Fabias should have one, I think mine was a trailing blue wire from a dim and distant memory.

There is no aerial 'spare  power connection' on Fabia cars. The original aerial base has a built in amplfier ,and is fed by 'Phantom' power on the inner car radio cable. If you fit a non  OEM radio, you will need a separate amplifier ,which has a blue wire to connect to a +12 volt supply from the car ,which is non powered when not using the car. This is well documented on Briskoda.

I have a separate amp on my 1.4, looks like a short silver cigar tube with a short RF lead on one end and an RF socket on the other, it has a blue trailing wire for switched live which plugs into a connector on the back of the DIN plug which goes into the Symphony head unit, does yours not have one then?
