I have just bought a brand new Octavia VRS, one really annoying thing is that both headlights mist up.

This runs around 2cm high, along the whole length of the DRL in the headlight, along the botton edge.

 

I have checked that the bulb caps are all in place

 

is this normal??

Perfectly normal...annoying, but normal.

Its that time of year. Cold nights sunny days, every thing is steaming up.

It's normal unless it becomes excessive.

Unfortunately it has been known to eventfully lead to the death of the LED DRL's.

This is a design weakness. Glass is hot in upper area due to the Xenon bulbs. Mist appears on the "cold" surface because led isn't producing any heat when the air humidity is high. Known physical characteristics.

Mist is fine. Water droplets are not. If the droplets are physically running down the headlight lens, take photos and take back to dealer.

Had one of my headlight units replaced - this was due to the fact that the dealer had been inspecting the xenon bulb housing as the bulb had been bouncing whilst driving, and had not secured the access cap in place. During the first drive in rain it filled the headlight unit with a puddle of water - cap clicks when it engaged properly.

Also more prevalent after you wash the car.
