Skoda Octavia MK 2 1.8 TSI brake disc size?

Featured Replies

I'm looking to buy a new set of rear brake discs for my Mk 2 Octavia with the 1.8 TSI engine, it is a 2010.

However it is not really easy to just order them since there seem to be quite alot of different sizes available..

I did try and remove the wheel today and measure it..

But it is really hard to get a accurate measurement, especially since there are 272, 282 and 288mm discs available..

So could someone please point me in the right direction so i know what i should get?

I puzzled for a while as to how best to measure the disc diameter. Get three straight pieces of wood and two wood screws. One length longer than 288mm., and two shorter ones. `Make a 'rectangle with one long side missing' as a makeshift disc measuring device. Tighten the wood screws so that the two short arms stay in place after measuring the diameter, then measure the distance between the two short arms with a tape measure.

You'll have to take the wheel off first, mind.

As above - find a way to measure accurately.

Or, assuming no one has fitted different to point of manufacture, look at option codes in service book sticker or on sticker in boot.  Usually the rear brake option code is shown.

For Mk2 FL vRS 1KT / (alternatively 1KS) is 272mm x 10mm. 1KP is 282mm x 12mm. I would say these are unified across range.

Edit: 3rd option, call TPS or dealer for replacement part price and part number and then cross reference.
