Friend is going to look at a fabia

My friend is going to look at a S/H Fabia Comfort Tdi 100 on a 52 plate in a local garage.

I'm aware of the leaking rear door seals and tailgate strut problems. Is there anything else he needs to look out for?

Thanks

Steve :)

Not much - just enjoy it. It will be out of warranty, so no worries about keeping the car standard. ;) I've had two of these now - my 2nd though has been somewhat altered though. :)

If it's an air-con model, make sure you test that the air con is working - not too easy in this weather as it switches itself off below 5 deg C! Mine packed up shortly after 3 years old and would have cost me several hundred quid to have repaired at a main dealer. If you can find someone on here local to you with VAG-COM, it's worth running a diagnostic check :D

Also check that there is even tyre wear on all the tyres (and question them if one is brand new ;)) as one of my track-rod arm ends mode> had worn which cost me a new track rod end and a new tyre, but I managed to get them to waive the labour cost.

Other than that, just do all the basic car buying checks - all electrics work, engine pulls strongly in each gear, evidence of overspraying, etc, etc :D
