Spate of nearly new Yetis

Featured Replies

I've noticed that the Skoda UK's used cars site has been listing a wide range of nearly new Yeti variants, mostly registered June 2016, and with low 'showroom' mileages (e.g 16 miles through to 100 miles).  These vehicles seem to be snapped up pretty quickly.  I assume these cars are gradually being released on the market from the 'old' stock reserves, as most appear to have the older, CR engines.  Anyone have any further info. on this phenomena?

If people wake up to the downside of the old diesel tech (assuming they are EGR versions - not SCR) they will surely have to give them away, having been 'fixed'.

I thought once the cheat was discovered VAG were banned from selling cars with these engines in the uk

Cars first registered after September 2015 had to be Euro 6 Emissions.

VW Group were stopped from selling Euro 5 Emissions TDI engine vehicles that they had after the defeat device scandal broke, but they managed to let some slip through.

Any 16 or 66 Plate car sold in the UK has to be Euro 6 Emissions.

True, but their new SCR engines with Adblue (urea), VAG are still 'taking the p**s', quite literally.  I blame their new chief engineer, Dr Jimmy Riddle!  Seriously though, with the news recently that major cities around the world are banning diesel engines (and this will catch on), this could spell the end of the automobile diesel engine era.

Just to clarify -

We're the low k/m ones the pre-AdBlue ones.

If so, are they able to be sold in the U.K. subject to them being 'fixed'?...(second hand)....if YES, I would avoid if you want a 'keeper'.
