I suppose 17 year olds in a car on there own can still smoke, but not looked at the legislation.

Also.. weve had this in place since Jan 1st this year.

But... like mobile phones, is it enforced properly? Doubt it, but im in favour of the sentiment..

It seems odd that they age was not under 17 when they might be considered a child, ie not possibly a Married person but then they could be..

In my Guarding days, when you could smoke on trains, I charged a young lad full fare because he was smoking. He kick up a right fuss.  He told he was half fare as he was only 15 and called me all the names under the Sun, He got off a few stations down the line and as he got off he went towards a lady on the platform " Is this your Lad " I asked " I've had a hell of a job to get him to pay Full fare "  " He's only half fare he's fifteen " she replied " Yer I know, he told me but he's been smoking "  HE'S WHAT, Wait 'till your father gets home....................."     Sorry love have to go we're Late..........................

Can we not just have a general 'don't be a ****' law? If you're willing to smoke in a car with your kid in it you shouldn't have been allowed to have a kid in the first place to be honest. Same goes for mums pushing a pushchair and having a fag at the same time...

yeah well unfortunately there is plenty of people like that in the world.. good law in my opinion

Mmmmmm   I've been thinking, If people breath out when smoking everyone else suffers the stink and smoke...............

 

Why not make it a Law that smokers are only allowed to breath in..............

Enforced or not, the fact that it's illegal will still stop a lot of people doing it.

both be fined for underage smoking (if legal purchase age 18, cant remember it is here..).

be deported from scotland and denial of future entry
