Fuel Pump Re-call????

Featured Replies

Anyone else had a letter from SUK regarding a fuel pump recall on Furby vRS's????

Isn't this just the recall to fix the bolts, or is there a new one?

Chris

No letter received - fancy copying the relevant bits into a post ? :D

Is it this recall which has been around a while?

It has been around for ages.

If there are cars that have not been reg'd as done in the affected chassis range then sometimes the letters get re issued.

I have only ever seen one leak btw out of hundreds ive done, and if it does you know about it. Not particularly dangerous so dont panic.

This unlike one that literally fell to bits in my Pug 205 and spewed loving amounts of fuel over the engine. Thankfully it was still cold, it started with what was left in the carb and then cut out, smelling strongly - left it for a while, put it back together again and cable-tied it (basically a pipe worked loose). No leaks after that & got it replaced :)

Hi Concerning this recall, would letters/info have been sent out to all skoda owners.?

I did not get one and have a Fabiavrs

Then last night i get in from work and theres all smoke/steam coming out the engine. Carefully i open the bonnet and theres massive deisel everywhere.

Called the AA (might as well as its free)

The bloke identifys a bolt sheared off in the end plate on the fuel pump causing the spillage. Was towed to garage this morning and they have advised they replaced all bolts and steam cleaned engine, not seen it yet as had to go to work.

So i suppose it could be worthwhile for all owners to have a look see if any bolt heads missing
