Drivers door lock

Featured Replies

Hi I've got a problem with the drivers door lock it will unlock with the key,but we have to push the button down with the door closed to lock it which is a pain, the car doesn't have central locking,is this likely to be an easy repair or could it lead to more trouble any help/advice with this would be great please cheers Paul

Only the  drivers door has a system where you cannot lock yourself out if you push the button down before the door is closed The button rises to a halfway position,on shutting the door. You can of course shut the door, and fully lock it with the key. If you are in the car you can fully push the lock button down.

Hi AndyPandy thanks for your reply,Sorry but I didn't explain it properly, what I meant is we can't lock the drivers door with the key it's been fine since we've owned it but this has happened in the last few days,it unlocks fine but when we try to lock it the button moves slightly but that's it,cheers Paul
