Has no one got one? or are they just rubbish?

I can imagine they are very well built and great value. thats all you may need to know.

I had a New Octavia hatch 1.6, which is a bit different to the 1.9tdi estate I suppose.... However, it was a lovely car... Very solidly built and a lovely interior which impressed everyone that got in it. Seats were comfortable enough except on very long journeys where it'd have been nice to have a few more adjustable bits, but then I had the base model...

Still prefer my furby though even though its got a creaky seat and isn't as nice inside - just too much fun!

I bought one back in October - the 1.9 4x4.

I part exchanged a Honda Aerodeck which was much faster, well built but cost far more to fuel and insure.

So far the Octy has been fine - touch wood,

The diesel took some getting used to but now provides a pleasant relaxing drive although it will shift O.K. if you put your foot down.

Biggest problem is that the old car was often filled with bikes, camping gear, rubbish,etc but the Octy feels/is too new for that.

So far though I'm more than pleased with the Octy and judging by the limited replies to your post there must be a certain exclusivity in owning one.

I love mine, huge boot, loads of equipment, certainly fast enough (keep on finding myself touching 100 when the conditions and traffic allow) nothing has broke yet.

Only gripe is when you wash the salt from the windscreen it seems to congregate on the drivers side window right in the line of view of the door mirror.

Oh, and a rattle somewhere around the ashtray at 2k revs.
