Getting My Furby Vrs (t -2 Days)

Featured Replies

Hi There,

Can't wait till I get my silver Furby vRS, after hearing you fellow Briskodians who have them!

Well those who have owned them - how has the experience been so far?

Any things to look out for?

Rich.;)

take it easy when you get it.. dont rev over 3k.. (not like youll need to)

and beware oversteer when driving hard :D

Not a vRS owner myself, but all I've heard from others is a bit of a rattle coming from the passenger door, something to do with binding plastic between the door and the side of the dash...

Apart from that I wouldn't be surprised if the dash mount starts squeaking, otherwise I'd say you're in for some :D inducing car ownership!

Thanks,

How long is the engine 'bedding in' period?

What is the colour of the instrument light illumination?

Rich.

Official bedding in period is about 1000 miles.. with a 3krpm max

some people say 1000 @ 3krpm max then 1000m @ 3.5k then 4k etc

i started giving mine stick after 1000 miles :)

if youve never had a diesel before, theres no point revving past 4k rpm.

if its wet, the wheels will spin in 1st and 2nd if your full throttle. and in 3rd if your on a less than perfect surface :D

the instruments are backlit green..

Bosses Saab is past 1000 miles today, so I gave it a good boot today! :D - Have to say though it does not seem to accelerate as quick as a 1.8T octavia - even WITH 210HP - I guess it's a heavier machine? Still good fun though IMHO, when I'm stuck driving a 100HP diesel...

You have to remember Jason.. its all about perceved speed. ie 130 in furby (on private 3 lane test track) felt like 80 in the clio.

likewise, i didnt think i was going balls out on sunday but was staying glued to the impretza in front!

I know what you mean though - Kind of felt like that around Wales. I'm just looking forward to my early Xmas present. :D

I guess the thing about the Saab is the luxury too - Dash even has a turbo boost guage on it. See below...

 - Still testing the camera - got a bit of a reflection off the Saab logo...

well dont forget.. its a vauxhall vectra really :D ( does it have a strange button that turns off half the lights.. a nighttime button or somethin?)

I pick up mine this week aswell :)

Black Fabia vRS, Will be having,

1. 17" SEAT Sport alloys, 205/40 17 Toyo Proxes,

2. Eibach Springs and Koni Sport adjustable dampers

3. Headlamp Protectors (fitted by dealer)

Once run in will be remapped at work. I put a deposit down on it a few weeks ago but have been waiting to get my loan through. Has taken ages as some ****** burnt down our local postal sorting office so all our mail is backed up and/or lost :(

Cant wait

Not that familiar with it yet - at the moment it's just a big engine and luxury gizmos' that I'm not used to. Deffo too many buttons to cope with.

I found one thing it hasn't got - one hit elec windows upward direction. You have to hold the button down... :(

I wouldn't have one - especially at nearly

Get my vRS sat morning, cant wait either!

Oh well... got a whole week to wait, unless I can get the dealer to give it me friday night ;)

those first 1000 miles are going to be difficult, should do them by sunday, then got a whole week off work to play with it next week!

Yipee!!!!

Oh that's what I meant to ask, the missus is complaining her 1.4 16v is slow, what sorta performance does a remap on that engine give ya?

Cheers

A couple of chaps have had their furby vrs remapped. Mr.Peck went to the Jabba consortium, whereas I thought Techie had his AMD'ed

All of the remaps give around 180bhp with about 320ft.lb of torque (I think). Not sure how that compares in real life though

I'm not sure that the 1.4 16v is that tuneable. I think Mr Fab16V's car was putting out a shade over 115BHP, due to a de-cat exhaust and induction kit. Beyond that, I'm not sure how far that engine can be pushed?
