Hi all, with winter here, I am considering some winter tyres for the Octy, not 19's though!! Got the opportunity for some Audi A4 B6 17" alloys, anyone know if 17's clear the calipers?

I don't think 17's clear tbh. I've got the pictoris 18's with Nokia winters on

Some 17" will fit, I have them on my 230. You need to check though, if you have the 340mm front discs I don't think even 18" Neptunes will fit due to the curviture of the spokes unless you fit spacers

My Nov 14 vRS TDI has the larger front discs. I got a set of 17" Rial winter-approved alloys (German TUV) using this site. Great price, no problems.

My car has the 340mm breaks and I have 17" winters - tight fit, but they do get there.

With that said, beware that as pointed out, not all 17" wheels will fit. It depends a lot on the wheel design.

do you know the spec? offset and width info will help you know if they're going to fit before you buy them.
