Changed the DSG stat today on my 2.0 CR TDI. All went well...however what is the lower small hose for on the air box? It's blocked at the end. Where should it go?

From doing some research it appears it's an overflow pipe?

Hi if you look at the hose carefully it has a slit in it to let water or condensation out !, it looks as if it is capped but on squeezing the end its not blocked ,it just goes down in the inner wing !.
