What do these lights mean?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. Please could you let me know what it means when all three of these lights go on altogether? I know what they all mean separately but unsure what it means when they come on at the same time. They come on randomly with no apparant reason each time and as soon as i turn the engine off even for a minute they all go out once the engine is switched on again (with the exception on the ABS light which goes off after i start driving) it doesn't happen on every journey just a few times since I've owned the car over the last month. thanks all in advance.

The lights on the dash are: Tyre pressure, ABS and TCS/ESP light (skidding car light)

Sounds like corroded abs sensor ring, someone with vcds should be able to identify which wheel causing the issue.

Hi guys, I have a similar problem with my 2010/1.2/DSG Yeti. When the car is rolling downhill and I put in in neutral, the ESP light comes on.

It goes away once I turn the engine off and restart it, but comes on every time I put the car in neutral on the move. Switching the engine off and restarting it fixes the problem every time.

I have recently (6 months ago) replaced the mechatronic which was faulty. I don't recall the ESP ever coming on when I put it in neutral with the old mechatronic.

Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

(I think this is my 1st post too  )

It could be the common problem of a failed sensor in the abs pump,a diagnostic scan should point you in the right direction, you can buy a repair kit nowadays instead of replacing the complete abs pump.

Did you find out what the fault is?

I have the Same issue at the moment, and after reading up a little its either a dodgy ABS Sensor or broken wire (from sensor).

I have a lot of work being done on 14th such as cambelt etc and the sensor is one of the bits of work! It was plugged in and flagged rear right sensor so we got the part and thats being replaced as well as all the other new bits being fitted. In the mean time i just live with the lights!!

Thank You, They are anoying to say the least. I believe it also turns off the whole ABS system too (?), not ideal.

Yes i can assure you it does as the lights were on a sunday before christmas. Went down a country lane and slammed on the brakes (no other cars around) to avoid hitting a pheasant and it did stop well but skidded to a stop rather than abs kicking in. Can't wait to get it sorted next week!
