Boot Lock

Featured Replies

Is there a key lock for the estate boot ? On mine there is what looks like a disc that should move out of the way for the key but it doesn't move ?

Mine has a normal lock in it for a key to go in. Sounds to me like yours has had a replacement fitted and they've removed the barrel and blanked it off.

It looks like it's supposed to be there, I'll try and free it up. Is yours just a key bit ?

Definitely a key operated lock and nothing covering it on mine :)

This is my boot lock.

Boot Lock

That is the standard boot lock, the flap where the key goes in, just folds inwards as you put the key in

That's mine

That's not right. Only thing you can do is take the boot handle/lock out and get a barrel made up to your key from Skoda.

I'm going to get a lock from the scrappies. The central locking should then work.

Central locking should work without a boot lock in place anyway. If your central locking is not working it's more than likely something else that's at fault.

Central locking works on all doors except boot. The actuator moves but the actual lock mechanism doesn't lock. It opens and shuts as advertised

If the actuator moves in the boot lock it must be another fault in the locking mech as a barrel shouldn't stop it from working.

The actuator moves but the rod it is attached to that operates the lock mechanism does not indicating perhaps the lock is seized.

So, got the replacement. Looking at how it works when you use the central locking the actuator moves a lever out of the way of the handle thus giving the handle nothing to act against to unlock the boot. Will have a butchers at my current one after chrimbo.

Fitted today and happy days boot now locks. Looks like the wiper motor has leaked at some point and leaked onto the linkage that should move the lever out of the way causing it to seize.
