Flimsy battery 'box'

 ..... AGM's ?

""Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries are a quality alternative to the traditional “wet” lead-acid ranges. They are very robust and so able to deep cycle more than wet batteries. The electrolyte is contained in a glass mat which will not leak, even if casing is broken.""

I remember way back when lean burn engines produced excessive heat and that's when they started putting them in a ventilated box.

In our summers they'd get close to boiling.

Thanks for that Urrell.  A quick 'google' revealed some other interesting facts (e.g http://batteryuniversity.com/learn/article/absorbent_glass_mat_agm).  So perhaps the 'felting' is not simply cost related but due to optimal battery functioning conditions of AGMs.

My Elegance has an AGM battery and a plastic battery box and lid.

And as all Yeti's now come with stop/start as standard they will probably also be fitted with AGM batteries.

Well having been out earlier this evening to jump start a friends car I can confirm that my 15 reg, 150hp diesel has an AGM battery with a soft battery cover, and do you know what.........................................

I really couldn't care less!!

Well, LG, you started this one off at post #2 with a less than necessary or helpful reply...and you got the above response in #31...and you have to to admit you was begging for such a reply.  Why say anything if you were so utterly disinterested?

It's the weather?.

No, just our Graham being our Graham! Bless him :notme:

Does the corner have a drinks cabinet?.

I haven't found it as yet when in residence but there are lots of empty 'tinnies'  ; - D)

Does the corner have a drinks cabinet?.

Not as such.  It's 'bring your own', with a general convention that you leave something behind for anyone paying an unexpected visit.

Which, by the nature of things, is most of the time

We need a fridge )))

Didn't know you could get a hydraulic strut - that's useful to know.

The Yeti is the first car that I've had for ages that doesn't have one and it still feels a little strange when opening the bonnet.

I take it is just a simple bolt up job?

I've got a hydraulic strut for my Yeti bonnet sitting on the shelf in my garage....bought it as part of the multi-buy a couple of years back.  Never got round to fitting it,  and probably can't be bothered to now.  Want to make me an offer?  (I think I paid about £37 including carriage)

(Its a dead easy swap job...I've got some dowloaded pictures showing step by step somewhere,  which I'd throw in.)

I would suggest one of those little ones that run off a battery but heaven knows where that will take us!

The contents of the corner do not stay long enough to need a fridge!!

With some contributors perhaps a set of stocks would be more appropriate with a basket of rotten fruit within easy reach. ;)
