Knocking noise after wheel bearing change

Featured Replies

Hi All

I recently had the front wheel bearing changed in a local garage, they also changed the ball joint as the old one was corroded. When I was driving yesterday I noticed a knocking noise coming from the front when I pressed the brake while turning.

Any ideas??

Badly placed brake pad or a broken clip on it letting it move.

Thanks but I think it might be something else, this morning was the first time I have drove on the motorway since the wheel bearing change. it doesn't feel right, something feels loose at the front end, I could feel something knocking under my foot. I'll have to bring it back into the guy that done the work on it. It's hard to find a good mechanic in Dublin

Have you checked the torque on the wheel bolts? If not, then do that first, but otherwise I agree there's too much that's just been worked on on that corner to do anything but take it back to the garage.
