Clutch/ Accelarator relationship...

Featured Replies

I am finding my clutch to accelarator relationship quite difficult to master in comparisson to other cars I drive.

The clutch has a high biting point and the accelerator has a couple of cm slack where it does not seem to resopnd too well.

Does anyone alse have this problem?

Is there anyway of adjusting this?

I have the same with my Octy.

As far as I know the slightly dead throttle response is a 'feature' of the drive by wire throttle.

The high clutch biting point may be symptomatic of a worn clutch - how many miles has yours covered? Mine has overed just over 44000 miles and has what I would term a high biting point, however I have a limited frame of reference - having only driven a small number of cars.

As for adjustments - I don't know of any that exist (however, please feel free to enlighten me) and I have just adapted my driving style accordingly. It does not stop it from being slightly annoying - the engine seems 'weak' when off boost - not in character with the very strong performance when the turbo is on song.

What engine is it?

Might not be drive by wire.

Good point - I assumed it was a vRS :o

Yes it is a Vrs with about 14,000 miles. I tried another with less miles and don't remember it being too different. I know that Jabba told me that each pedal has two sensors ans the sometimes are not in 100% allignment which can cause the problem. Glad to hear I am not the only one who thinks the clutch could be better :)
