Tuning shop told me Shell Nitro is now 100 ron, not seen 'anything' in writing about this though for UK

Minimum 99 ron can be 100 ron or more and sometimes is,

as 100-102 is readily available in continental Europe,

But that is not advertised or on the Filling Station pumps because that is not going to be the case always.

Other countries have different Super Unleaded Ron / mon.

Shell V-Power in some places in Italy is rather special, like near Test Tracks.

 

If you have a switchable map you get a chance to experience changes quite easily.

Stage 1 APR and 102 ron is nice.

You are totally right, in that any normal driver in the real world can not really tell whether that has 95, 97 or 99 ron in the tank.

Can you tell?

 

But then the 1.4 TSI / TFSI 132-136kw Twincharger can tell and sometimes make even the biggest numpty in the world aware what fuel is being used.

So there might be enough abnormal owners and drivers that are aware, and feel misfires, hesitations, rough starting etc, 

then of course there is the recommended fuel for these engines and engine management, Super/ 98.

 

I've put 1 tankful of 95 in my car when caught short & yes indeed it WAS obvious. Poor performance & MPG

Tesco Momentum 99, always have done bar the one time I was caught with 0 miles left in Maidstone and the nearest was a BP so got a tank of BP "Ultimate", didn't notice any difference though really from my usual.

Lol think yourself lucky, i struggle to get high 30's mpg in my 1.2 HTP snail.

Last time I had high 30s I did a 4 hour trackday at knockhill......
