Hi from Godsown

Featured Replies

I have been a long time VAG fan in more ways than one. Current cars are are 2011 tuned Golf R, a tuned 2006 Polo GTI, a very standard Seat Ibiza Cupra GTI, quite rare here in Australia.

My reason for joining here is that about a month ago on a bit of a whim I purchased a 2011 Skoda Octavia Scout sight unseen from a auction. It is a 2.0 TDI with DSG. I was thinking that it might be a more economical if substantially slower way to enjoy the benefits of a 4motion equipped vehicle. Also it is a more practical vehicle for my work which includes some driving on sometimes quite rough gravel road and tracks. Skodas are still not well accepted here in Aus and consequently are relatively good value for money on the second hand market compared to the equivalent VW model ie Golf Alltrack.

Needless to say the car has a few dramas after an apparently fairly hard life. So I look forward to hopefully picking up some tips and assistance from this group and just maybe based on my last 30 years of VAG ownership I may be able to reciprocate in some way.

Welcome Vonsharpe55. Festive greetings from the frozen North (well it's actually 13 degrees C at the moment!!)

Thanks and same to you. It's quite pleasantly cool here today at 27 degrees C. Generally it's into the 30's at this time of year.
