Engine warning light came on

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just bought a Fabia classic 1.2 56 plate from a garage in London and drove it back to Hastings and after about 130 miles, the engine warning light came on.

I have an elm327 obd cable I got from eBay a few years ago but it doesn't seem to work. Is it compatible or do I need something newer?

There is something marked ON above the obd, what does it do? Is it related?

The car has only done 36k miles. I'm hoping it's not dodgy Asda fuel that has caused it as the tank is filled with it.

Lets chilled air into the cubby for drinks cans etc.

my guess would be a lambda sensor if it drives ok still

My 56 plate needed the downstream one replacing and the connector cleaning on the upstream one as it was causing the EML to come on.

buy a cheap obd reader for £15 and that will tell you the problem

Hi, I found my diagnostic probe and plugged it in and it said camshaft position sensor 16726 so I cleared the code and all seems fine. If it comes up again I will replace the part.

The garage I bought it from said they will post me a manual.

Thanks for all your help!

Ah well that's a simple one to replace and fairy cheap
