Issues with Driving Data Multifunction Display

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Over the last few weeks I have started to have issues with the Driving Data - Multifunction Wheel on the steering wheel (wheel on the right hand side).

It started to not respond - I would turn the wheel 2-3 times before I would get 1 movement on the display screen. However now its pretty much not working. I can turn the wheel 100 times and I might get lucky and see the display screen move once. I was messing with it the other night on the drive trying to get it working and it decided to respond for a few seconds and stop working again, and within them few seconds it set up a Warning for when I drive over 20mph and now I cannot get it off :swear:  :swear: :swear:  - annoying!!!

Has anybody else had this issue?

Thanks

Paul

This happened to me recently. It was changed under warranty by my local dealer.

No problems since.

Sorry to hear you also had this issue JD, but I am glad its not a one off and they will sort it out under warrenty!

Really busy at the moment so once I get myself sorted in January, I will get her booked in!

Thanks

Paul

Funny you should mention this - my 3 month old Octy has just done the same thing !

The left scroll-wheel was being a little dicky at times too, with the volume, but the right-side scroll-wheel is doing exactly the same as yours right now.

I've requested it looked at ASAP (booking in for another warranty/service check).

At 3 months old, it's in pristine condition, so it's definitely not just gummed up with fluff and dirt/debris.

Yep, had the same problem at about 3 months, replaced under warranty

Does anyone know if this repair requires the steering wheel to be taken off or can it be done with the wheel in situ?

I'd like to know this too?

I'd rather the wheel didn't have to be totally removed.... prefer just some screws removed and the multifunction cover plates just come off to replace/repair the switches...... but I guess either way, the more you start un-screwing & re-screwing things on new cars, they will start to squeak and rattle

To take the wheel off means disturbing the airbag too. I was more curious for my other Skoda as the same wheel is playing up on my Superb.

The job was completed in less than an hour without taking the wheel off. They replace the complete roller/switch unit.

It took them longer to wash the car ????????
