Decat: Only potential issue there is it can affect the running of the turbo due to decreased back-pressure in the exhaust. Potential for over-boosting and would need a remap. As long as it is still visually there then will pass an MOT.

 

EGR: Yes you should just be able to blank it off and leav in place but again would need a remap to tell the car not to use the EGR or you would have a constant warning light on.

 

Front bumper: Can't help there I'm afraid.

Fairly sure Silver is correct saying it is a B6, iirc.

 

But he forgot to mention they are a lot better put together than the Skoda's, certainly around the age of yours and mine.

 

it's a B7.. the years did overlap however, as B6 was 2000 - 2006 and B7 was 2004 - 2008.. the body, lights and front grill etc give it away as a B7

Thought mine was a B6, but no....................It's a B7................................Single grille and split rear lights.

these front ends couldnt be much more different.. considering they are both from the same line (A4)

 

Not so much versions of one series but all current models

ah right.. i think its down to the very recognisable front end, that grill shape has almost become iconic so its on all the new cars
