I am back from BMW

Featured Replies

Yes I am back had to register again couldn't logon. I killed my Octavia a few years ago whilst changing by cam belt. I was using VCDS and couldn't get on the graph as fuel temp to low. So took it for a fun and valve hit pistons as new belt snapped. A great shame as it was heading for 250k

I am wanting to change to a used Superb 3 L&K as can't get much more than 37mpg from my BMW 525d need as I retire soon.. So need to decide between a 150 or 190, need to do some searching on the forum.

Hi there Keith and welcome back to Briskoda

Good look in your search for a new motor in the Superb - I am sure you will get plenty of advice and help on this forum in the Superb section

Welcome back!  There has been some discussion on the 150 v 190 question on the SIII forum.  It is something many of us have debated.  Personally, I couldn't see any noticeable difference between the 150 and 190 TDi but have a look here and also do a search as there are a few other threads where this topic has come up

Also, you mention that you are retiring - will your mileage drop and will it justify a diesel?  The 1.4 TSi (150 with ACT) and the 220 and 280 TSi are very decent alternatives especially if you are planning to hold on to it a little longer and want something that little but special.  Good luck with your decision!
