Coolant leak

Featured Replies

Have a leak and it's coming out from where the cts sits.

Took it out and put a fresh O ring in but still leaking. With the cts and O ring and plastic clip in there seems to be play in the cts if i try move it? Im guessing it should be solid in there and seated well

I replaced the coolant housing not long ago so doubt its that

Could i use some gasket sealant around the cts and o ring when putting b it in?

anyone else had similar??

Genuine or aftermarket CTS?

Genuine or aftermarket CTS?

Gotta be honest i cant remember. The housing is from dealer but not sure biut ts and o ring was from the work shed so maybe its not rite size.will order from skoda see if that sorts it

I would be inclined to suspect the o ring at this stage, as vag ones are quite substantial in their design.

Kentphil1 is correct, the 'o' ring has a much larger cross section than a so called std one.

The part number is:- N 903-168-02 Round Seal (19,6x3,65)

Thanks for that. Was just onto skoda here. €54 for the cts.

Is there any identifying marks on it so i can tell if mine is a genuine one rather then splash the 54 if all i need is a vag O ring??

Hi,

Just checked my records, it was fitted on 5th November 2007, sadly my little grey cells dont go back that far so cant remember any marking.

Its a sort of pea green colour and replaced a black body one that threw a error code 1 year into ownership.

I always try to go OEM for parts like that, not the cheapest, but as you can see usually the most reliable (9 years +).

The green sensor part number was at that time:- 059919501A (4 pin) prob' has been revised by now tho.

Thanks for taking the time to check for me. I have the green one allrite, just not sure if it was a cheap ebay one or from the dealer. Ill try the O ring from skoda first and see if it seals up better. If not will put in the oem cts aswel and hope that sorts it

Appreciate the help and advice

Current CTS part number is 059919501A, and the o ring number is N90316801. If you need a new clip, the number is 032121142.

All the numbers are current as of November 2016 when I got mine.
