As above can anyone tell me the best and easy way to change the radio for something  just plug and play a bit more up market that wont need any software upgrade just want to try and lift the look of the dash abit

Which unit do you have in at the moment? You could always upgrade to a Bolero or Columbus unit.

I have the Stream radio works ok but just looks abit dull dont want to fit anything that will need a lot of upgrading

I have a Bolero in mine and it is great. Like Mike said, you will need a new gateway and a 2:1 radio antenna cable (apologies the name escapes me) but once in, they work very well and look the business.
