1.8 TSI and torque

Featured Replies

Hey.

Does anyone know how Skoda limits the amount of torque on 1.8 tsi on Octavia?

On manual and dsg 7 gearbox its 250 nm.

On 4X4 dsg 6 its 280 nm and on new Superb its 320 nm with manual gearbox.

Is it different software or something that can be coded with vcds?

In engine management software I assume. If engine mapped to increase torque I imagine that the warranty on the gearbox would be void (if Skoda/dealer) detected the map.

The engine itself has 320Nm of torque. Its the ECUs software that reduce it. This is to increase the clutch lifetime, and to reduce torque steer
