Clutch Pulley and belt gone help please

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I had an issue the last few days with my battery getting no charge from the alternator.

When I looked my belt had come away and my clutch Pulley is turning both ways.

are these the right parts needed? Or is it worth just buying a second hand alternator and belt incase the alternator is knackered? One going for £60 on eBay ATM.

Can only find the pulleys on eBay but ideally need them by Friday as need to get my car back working for Monday so if anyone else has any suggestions as ecp don't seem to stock them.

If anyone can lend me a hand in Maidstone Kent will give some dosh!

Cheers guys

Just grab a secondhand alternator since you're in hurry, you a need a special tool to remove the pulley and they can be VERY tight.

Thanks Sepulchrave. I'll just do that then and buy a belt :)

+1 on that good advice.

I've snapped the tool before using a powder bar to remove the pulley!

Price up a new altenator at your local motor factors, mine was only £80 and that comes with a new pulley fitted :)

Sorry just was looking at second hand Alternator's and looking at around £30-50 delivered with a used pulley.

Saw this on ECP with the discount code comes to £80 so may aswell buy new. Is this the right one? I have a 06 vrs pretty sure it's BLT engine (with being a 06 year). And was the belt the right one that I initially posted?

Thanks for your help everyone

You've put your registration in and it says it fits?

I know there are a few different output powers available for the Fabia,if you look on the ID sticker on the current altenator it will show what amps it is,IIRC mine was 95 amps.

Hi yes looked already says 90 amps which is same as ecp one. But the ecp one say A\C no which I thought it would need to say yes ?

Cheers

Anyone near Maidstone Kent who wants to help for a bit of cash as never changed an alternator before? :)

Can someone please just confirm that the alternator is correct it's 90amps same as the one I have in there at the moment. It says a/c no but they all seem to is that right ? Thanks

Are you collecting from ECP?

If so compare it to the one on the car.

All VRS's had air con,so think that's just a mistake on the system.
