Bluetooth retrofit

Featured Replies

Im sure this has probably been covered lots andI have been doing some research but have struggled to find some answers so thought I would post on here.

My Girlfriend has just brought a Skoda Fabia mk2 2013 greenline

It has the following stereo fitted i think its a swing but unlike other pictures i have seen there is no name on the front of it. I have retrofitted bluetooth into my Audi and I own VCDS so can code it all in

I am struggling to find any guides on retrofitting. I think i have worked it out where the bluetooth module locates and the microphone in the light.

what I am confused about is what type/ model number module i am looking for ? is there a list or a guide on the net is there a certain model number to get or do all skoda bluetooth modules work.

I think her fabia has the maxi dot display as it displays the mpg and miles to empty etc things you can scroll through.

i have a spare audi module but i don't think its compatible as there is no skoda logo on the front of it so it looks  like i will have to buy her a full kit.

any help would be great and will help me get major browny points

Her Radio in the car I think its the swing even though it doesn't say it

This is the spare Audi Module i have i don't think its compatable but will check vcds tomorrow as im sure there was the option to tell it what car make its installed in

Post a picture of the clocks that are fitted.

Right looking again closer at her car think she just has the standard screen and not the dot matrix like i stated earlier

as requested here are some pictures of the screen and indicator stalks

the girlfriend has said she would like to have a sat nav installed in place of the radio but she will have to save up as i know those units are quite a few pennies lol

what are the options with regards to bluetooth ideally I would like to go the OEM retrofit route but if its easier and cheaper will fit a parrot kit for her

any help would be greatly received

A second hand maxidot display, an Amundsen+ nav unit and a GPS antenna would give you everything you need.

 Thanks for that

Does that mean that her current radio isn't compatible for a bluetooth retrofit? If in the future she does decide to go for the amundsen sat nav do you have to upgrade the maxi dot display ? or can that sat nav system be fitted with the current clocks that are in the car ?

Is the bluetooth phone built into the amundsen sat nav unit ?

Is it a easy job to swap out the clocks ? and can the millage and things be coded easily enough

IIRC The Bluetooth is all controlled through the clocks so I don't think the radio matters too much.

The gps unit can be fitted but you'd need the clocks to make it all work 100%

The Amundsen+ has built in Bluetooth.

In order to get the clocks working you would need to find someone with the correct equipment to code them in and change the mileage.

Ok thank you for your help.

If  i wanted to keep the current stereo can bluetooth be retrofitted?

if I want to go down the route of swapping the clocks is the millage adjustment done via VCDS ? or is it need to be done via other software. I have the full VCDS which i use for my audi

You can fit a separate module that would possible work.

The clocks need the relevant data extracting to enable the substitute clocks to be coded. Someone with VAG commander will be able to carry out the entire operation in one go.

5KO 035 730D is the module I have in my fabia with the swing radio which looks identical to yours even though it doesn't say swing, you will need a wiring loom that connects the BT module in between the radio and the male quadlock coming out of the car.

The wiring loom includes a mic which gets mounted into a factory slot by the interior light.

Because you dont have maxidot it makes it easier as you wont need VCDS to activate phone (only needed for maxidot) as soon as I had the module plugged in my iphone saw the BT module and I was able to call people and people where able to call me.

The only thing you wont be able to do it call and answer phone calls without touching the phone... as you need maxidot for that.
