Rough cost to replace all pipes around the inlet manifold?

Featured Replies

My EML came on the last week. The garage said it's got a vacuum leak, and I'm sure they said around the manifold. Said the best thing to do is to replace all the pipes as it's getting to an age where it could happen again. It's a 2003 VRS.

I'm no mechanic... Garage said it will be a couple of hundred. Sound about right?

If you were to replace them with factory pipes from the dealer then, probably about right, but if you buy silicon (Vacuum) hose from ebay about £50 if not less

Sounds a bit steep. Search for "AUQ breather" on eBay and loads come up. I went for the silicone ones from Creations Motorsport 90k/5 years ago and they still seem fine.

The ones underneath the manifold are a bit of a PITA to get to but still shouldn't take a competent garage more than an hour or so to replace them.

Ok nice.

That was my next question - which ones are the most cost effective to replace with.
